RESORT PROJECT
The inspiration in this project comes from the well-known international African dancer Josefin Baker in the 1920s. Baker started her career in the Folies Berger night club in Paris and turned to be a huge success. I focused on the paradox between her background and becoming a Parisian icon. Her naked breast dancing style, wearing only a bananas skirt characterized her mostly. Examining her photographs shows how the human body sells itself. I chose to emphasize it by using the feminine siluet with printing and sewing techniques.
Women shouldn't be chased because of their body. They should be empowered.
